Coins are needed to craft items at the merchants’ shops. The player receives rubies by reaching new levels and by completing certain quests. Rubies can also be used to speed up the process of crafting items at the merchants’ shops. The player can buy any item available in the Store (artifacts, talismans, fixers, energy boosters, etc.) by spending rubies. There are 2 currencies in the game: rubies and coins. The player can also hire them, and depending on their randomly assigned talents, they will give specific rewards. They can visit their friends and help them out with exploring locations. Players can co-operate with their friends. Darkwood is also filled with monsters, which the player needs to banish in order to get useful things as a reward. If needed, the player can trade useful items with them. The map shows the townspeople wandering the streets of Darkwood. There are 4 types of puzzles in the game: Mosaic, Ancient Cards, Haunted Lights and Treasure Box. The player can also solve puzzles, which give various rewards. Anomalies include Gargoyle, Reflection, Darki Entitites, Time Shift and Hoarfrost. In-game phenomena called "Anomalies" appear randomly in locations and makes the process of finding hidden objects more complex. Locations in the game cost energy points per entry and have different modes – texts, silhouettes, night mode, matching pairs, morphing objects and anagrams. Exploring locations and finding hidden objects is Seeker’s main activity.
The player navigates the city using a magical map that displays locations.
